Services we offer
  • DSE work station assessment to ensure that the work station and the environment meets at least the minimum requirements of the regulations
  • Visual screening to highlight employees who have problems with intermediate vision which may affect DSE use. This can also highlight general sight problems such as colour blindness and provides an appropriate referral route to an optician
  • Identification of DSE work related medical problems which can then be managed effectively via an Occupational Physician if required
  • Provision of information, instruction and training to the employee at his or her work station to give them a full understanding of the importance of good DSE practice
  • Provision of training documents to employees in order that they can assist in the management of their work station in accordance with the regulations
  • Supply of management notes to employer with respect to every individual assessed, giving clear guidance on the management of DSE related issues or, in the absence of issues, a general DSE compliance note

General Information

The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 (amended 2002) sets out guidance for the minimum standards a requirements for working with Display Screen Equipment.

The DSE regulations highlight the possible risks to health which could affect employees as a result of regular DSE use.

The employer has a duty to ensure that they comply with the regulations by assessing the work station and the working environment of employees who are regular DSE users.

The employer has a duty to provide a DSE worker with an eye sight test if he or she requests one.

The employer also has a duty to provide appropriate training and information relating to DSE use.
